Megan has a Master's Degree from San Jose State University in Social Work with an emphasis on health and mental health; she is currently an Associate Clinical Social Worker #69290, supervised by Tamsin Goldsmith, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #92426. Megan grew up in Fresno, CA and attended the University of California, Santa Cruz. As an undergraduate, Megan studied Community Studies and Psychology with an emphasis on Sex, Gender, and Sexuality. Megan has felt called to serve those with eating disorders since she began her educational and professional career.

Megan is passionate about creating equitable opportunities for healing to all individuals, with a special interest in serving under-served communities and those impacted by systems of oppression. Megan has experience working with individuals impacted by domestic violence and sexual assault as a member of the Sexual Assault Response Team in Santa Cruz County. Her experience also includes providing individual therapy and rehabilitation services to low income adults living with severe mental illness, such as schizophrenia. She has experience working as a school counselor in an alternative education high school and has provided home-visiting based psychotherapy and parenting education to primarily low income families referred through Family & Children's Services / Child Welfare. Prior to joining the Lotus Collaborative, Megan served as a family and group therapist at a residential eating disorder treatment facility.

Megan believes in the transformative power of social support, community, and spirituality. Her therapeutic orientations are trauma-informed, person-centered and include object relations and existential therapies. She uses humor as a powerful tool for disarming shame and reigniting joy. She believes that the body holds the key to peace, connection, and freedom.
