Roxanne Friedman, B.A.
Social Media Coordinator

Roxanne Friedman (they/them) grew up in New York and moved to Santa Cruz to pursue their work in healing, justice, and counseling. They hold a degree in Human Development with a concentration in ecotherapy from Prescott College. After graduating from the Lotus Program, Roxanne became a graduate mentor until offered a position as a counselor. They are passionate about understanding systems of oppression and how they impact the relationships we form with our bodies. Roxanne brought wisdom from their own recovery journey and personal experience as a queer non-binary femme to their work as a recovery counselor at Lotus for almost two years. They recently relocated to Philadelphia to seek opportunities as a portrait photographer centering and representing queer and gender non-conforming folks. Now, Roxanne is our social media coordinator and brings a unique perspective to The Lotus Collaborative by addressing the connection between gender, sexuality, and eating disorders. They are passionate about body liberation, healing body shame, and celebrating fat in a world that tells us not to!
