Graduate Mentorship Program
One of the most important cornerstones of our treatment philosophy is having a safe and recovered community to survive the ups and downs of living life after an eating disorder.
At The Lotus Collaborative, clients work towards health and a balanced lifestyle and are then given the opportunity to give back to their peers by becoming Graduate Mentors. Following a successful completion of a PHP or IOP treatment program, clients who have demonstrated an ability to build a solid, balanced and supported recovery and who are seeing an outside treatment team are invited to join the Graduate Mentorship Program, which gives them the ability to interact with clients taking part in the program. Graduate Mentors participate in a weekly Community Support group to provide insight into and motivation towards fighting through the hard work that recovery can be. By answering questions about life after treatment, about being one's True Self in an old place, and even about what it means to be in treatment in the first place, Graduate Mentors help to normalize and de-stigmatize the treatment experience. Additionally, while learning more about themselves and their own lives, Graduate Mentors provide tangible evidence that recovery is possible for everyone.
In addition to participating in the weekly Community Support Group, Graduate Mentors are invited to participate in a snack or meal weekly, as well as to co-facilitate recovery-oriented skills groups. Graduate Mentors must have a full outside treatment team and take part in regular check-in meetings to ensure that they are able to facilitate their own recovery while assisting others.
If you are interested in becoming an eating disorder mentor, we would love to hear from you.
