Laurence White, Student
Milieu & Recovery Counselor
Laurence, originally from the state of Kentucky, moved to Northern California to pursue their own radical healing. In the transformation found along their recovery Laurence turned their heart towards healing as a practitioner. Laurence studied Theater at Transylvania University and continued their study of psychology at Cabrillo College. Laurence believes that we all truly hold our own medicine. Laurence studies vipassana meditation, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and embodiment. They know embodiment practice as a doorway to freedom from the fetters that bind those in addiction, trauma and suffering in its broadest sense. Laurence focuses on empowering clients through sharing investigative practices and skills use that can be carried eternally onward. Their emphasis on self compassion in the process fosters the integration and longevity of these teachings in personal life. Laurence is a graduate of the Lotus Collaborative. Their capacity to access connection and authenticity in their role as a counselor is unique to their intimate experience of being on the other side of healing. Laurence is passionate about the arts and teaching. Alongside their role as a Recovery Counselor, Laurence is a poet and musician who centers their writing in clear seeing and the exaltation of experience. They volunteer as a Writing Project Assistant with Young Writers Program and serve on the board of Insight Santa Cruz.
