Rebekah Gong is an Associate Clinical Social Worker (#96669), supervised by Kaye Anderson LCSW #19013. Rebekah has a master’s degree in Social Work from the University of California, Berkeley. She also holds a psychological counselor license from China, and a postgraduate diploma in gender, sexuality, and relationship diversity therapy from the UK. She provides clinical services in English and Mandarin Chinese.
Rebekah began working at The Lotus Collaborative in September 2020. She brings with her extensive clinical experience working with people struggling with trauma, including physical/sexual assault survivors, domestic violence survivors, sexual minorities, and people living with HIV. Rebekah has experience working in diverse settings including outpatient, inpatient, and community mental health in the U.S. and China.
Rebekah is passionate about using a collaborative, person-centered, and strength-based style in sessions. She has been trained in various modalities including Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, mindfulness, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. Rebekah strives to be a mental health service provider with cultural sensitivity and is committed to practicing cultural humility in both her personal and professional life. She believes it is critical to recognize the larger sociocultural context that underlies our lived experiences, especially how systemic oppression affects individuals, families, and communities.
Rebekah is a strong advocate of diversity and inclusion. She currently serves as the Co-Chair for API Social Work Council, Northern California Chapter of National Association of Social Workers.
Rebekah started her own journey in processing trauma and self-empowerment by leading a feminist theatre project in 2012 where she reconnected with her body. She continues her journey by practicing Argentinian tango, an opportunity to be mindful and present at the moment, free of judgment.
