NAMI Santa Cruz County offers practical experience, support, education, comfort and understanding to anyone concerned about mental illnesses and their treatment. In addition, they work with public and private organizations to increase knowledge of effective ways of treating the illnesses while advocating for improved services for individuals with mental illness.
Be The Light Foundation
Be the Light Foundation is a volunteer organization which fosters the education, outreach and peer support of men and women suffering from eating disorders. By allowing the ED recovered community to share their experience and support by mentoring those who still suffer, strong relationships and network can be created. The primary function of Be the Light Foundation is to foster trusting and interactive relationships between people at different levels and stages in their eating disorder recovery, and allow those trusting relationships to create the path to health.

Callers will talk to someone who is compassionate, supportive, and accepting of anyone experiencing suicidal thoughts or a general life crisis. In addition to the confidential suicide crisis line, you can call the administrative line at (831) 459-9373 to arrange for community education, set up trainings for service providers, or learn about bereavement support for someone who has lost a loved one to suicide.
The Diversity Center of Santa Cruz
The Diversity Center was founded in 1989 as the Santa Cruz Lesbian and Gay Community Center to advance the causes and priorities of the lesbian and gay community in Santa Cruz County. Over the years, the Center has grown in scope, budget, and staff, and now serves the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning (LGBTQ+) community of Santa Cruz County. They offer a wide variety of programs and training to support teens, families, and schools on issues of gender, sexuality, acceptance, and overcoming discrimination.
