On February 4, 2026, The Lotus Collaborative is hosting a Mind–Body Open House on the Westside of Santa Cruz, and you’re invited.

This is a community wellness event designed for curious locals, wellness seekers, community advocates, collaborative providers, and anyone seeking support. You’ll have the chance to connect with Santa Cruz holistic providers, explore mind–body healing modalities, and experience what whole-person care in our town feels like.

Whether you come to learn, to connect, to get support, or to simply try something new, all are welcome.

Meet Our Spotlighted Providers

Dr. Alexis Farley, ND

Alexis Farley is a licensed naturopathic doctor specializing in gut health, mental wellness, and hormones, with additional training in functional medicine, hormone therapy, and mind-body therapies. She is passionate about helping patients address the root causes of digestive issues, anxiety, depression, and life stage transitions through individualized, holistic care. Utilizing comprehensive lab testing, herbal remedies, nutrition, nutrient IV therapy, and bioidentical hormones, she emphasizes education, empowerment, and the connection between mind, body, and spirit.

Erin Burton, LCSW

Erin Burton is a licensed clinical social worker and Brainspotting-certified therapist specializing in trauma recovery, nervous system regulation, and healing from narcissistic abuse. She integrates traditional trauma therapy, the Safe and Sound Protocol, and Brainspotting to support deep emotional processing and meaningful internal change. Her approach invites deep healing and fosters a healthier relationship with self and others.

Dr. Makani Lew, DC, DACRB

Dr. Lew is a board-certified rehabilitative chiropractor with over 35 years of clinical and teaching experience. After a 24-year career as a professor and clinician at Palmer College of Chiropractic, she now owns and operates a small, rehab-focused chiropractic practice in Aptos, California. Dr. Lew specializes in patient-specific evaluation, gentle adjusting, and functional rehabilitation, with a strong emphasis on outcome measures and movement-based care. Dr. Mayra Lizeth Sanjuan, DTCM, LAc

Mayra Sanjuan is the founder and owner of Florecer Wellness and Acupuncture and a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Licensed Acupuncturist in California. Her work focuses on integrative, evidence-informed care, with an emphasis on the connections between the nervous system, digestion, stress regulation, and mental health. Originally from Mexico, her lived experience informs a culturally responsive, trauma-informed approach that supports both physical and emotional well-being through individualized care..

Dr. Liz Esalen

Liz Esalen is the Founder and CEO of The Lotus Collaborative and Luminous Healing Center in Santa Cruz and San Francisco. A licensed psychologist with 25+ years in holistic trauma and eating disorder recovery, she is known for building heart-centered programs that support deep mind–body reconnection. At Luminous, Dr. Esalen is at the forefront of innovative, evidence-based trauma care, integrating modalities such as Internal Family Systems, somatic therapy, and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy to help clients heal PTSD, anxiety, and mood-related challenges with greater depth and compassion.

Langdon Roberts

Langdon Roberts is the neurofeedback director of the Santa Cruz Neurofeedback Center. As a neuroscientist, neurofeedback practitioner, somatic coach, and life mentor, he has been helping clients to live more peaceful, joyful, purposeful, and satisfying lives for over 25 years. He uses quantitative EEG brain mapping, combined with an assessment of his clients' abilities, symptoms, and goals to develop neurofeedback protocols tailored specifically to each individual's neurophysiology to optimize brain function and relieve symptoms of anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD, addictions, and many other brain-related conditions. Langdon also works extensively with neurodiverse individuals and those struggling with basic life skills due to physical or psychological trauma.

Heather LeFevre,

Originally from Texas, Heather pursued a career in marketing that took her all over the US and Europe. Along the way, stress, high heels, and an open abdominal surgery led to pain in her shoulder and hip that would not go away and began to limit her life. Heather discovered CranioSacral therapy to release trapped emotions and structural restrictions, finally ending the cycle of chronic pain and inspiring her to bring this transformational therapy to others. Heather is a certified CranioSacral therapist through the Upledger Institute. She works with adults and children to relieve and support many conditions including headaches, TMJ issues, body pains, digestive issues, torticollis, and tinnitus, to name just a few.

Benny Drescher

Born and raised in Santa Cruz, Benny offers his services as a movement-based healer specializing in chronic pain. An avid surfer having lived through multiple life-altering sport and gym injuries and overcome chronic pain after 7 years, his passion to be of service is pointed and unwavering. Holding a B.S. from UC Santa Barbara, he is an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. 

His approach blends a diligent study of Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization from the Prague School of Rehabilitation in combination with principles of weight training for pain recovery and tissue regeneration taught by Ben Patrick and Ben Clarfield of the Athletic Truth Group. He places special emphasis on treating pain as a neuroplastic phenomenon interdependent with the context of our lives.

Kiana Tavakoli

Kiana is a poet, women’s circle facilitator, and community-builder.

She’s also a 500-hour registered yoga teacher with certifications through the Prison Yoga Project and Embodied Path Yoga (Santa Barbara), and her work is rooted in accessibility and trauma-informed care.

Her intention is to cultivate a supportive space for participants to explore their own practice and reconnect with themselves, each other, and the natural world.

Jen Maiorana

Jen Maiorana is an intuitive alchemist weaving together energy medicine, tarot wisdom, and intentional movement.

Jen completed her RYT-200 yoga teacher training in 2018. Since then, she has completed Holy Fire and Usui Reiki I & II with Adina Marie, Andean Shamanism and Reiki Master with Vickie Evans, Soul Tarot with Lindsay Mack and 150-hour traditional Thai massage training with Homprang Chaleekanha in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Jen is currently studying Traditional Chinese medicine at Five Branches University. In her free time, Jen loves to swim, garden, hike, travel, and write.
