Professional & Client Testimonials:
Former Client- LA-
"Although I had a short time here, I had a life-changing experience. I went in not realizing how severe my eating disorder was nor did I think I ever had one. It was hard to open up and be vulnerable to so many people when I had been putting up a wall for anyone that came close to me. Before Lotus I had never let anyone see all of me because of all the people in my life that would shut down and rejected me when I opened up. Lotus helped me see who I really am. They made it okay for me to be the real me with real feelings. I would have never known I could live my life without my eating disorder if it weren't for their support and my experience here

"What can I say! I had the privilege of being a client at The Lotus Collaborative for about 10 months and although it was a bumpy ride, as treatment always is, I wouldn't change it for the world! TLC changed the course of my life and showed me how bright and beautiful life in recovery can be. I am seeking a full recovery and it's because of TLC that I believe that's possible. Thank you."
Former Client JM-
Good eating disorder treatment is hard to come by. I've learned over the years that therapists will say they work with eating disorders but they don't really know what they're doing. A lot of therapists just let you talk but don't really help you understand why you keep doing the things you do or how to stop. Unfortunately, I've been to two other treatment centers and they can't compare to Lotus. They were in weird business buildings and the staff felt like were just punching a time card and didn't really know what they were doing.
Lotus is completely different. The place, the staff, even the day to day program feels vibrant but really peaceful. I immediately loved the feeling I got when I walked in the door. It felt like home but just a really well decorated spa-home.
The staff at Lotus are really caring and feel like real people. My therapist had her own eating disorder and recovered from it. She immediately got me and I started to feel hope. I learned so much about myself that for so long I didn't understand. I had tried so many diets and still couldn't give up my eating disorder. I finally began to understand and make small changes that grew into bigger changes. In the end, I stopped my eating disorder and actually liked myself. The groups made me work and grow and several of the people I went to treatment with are still help keep me strong.
I used to have to out of the area to get support but now that Lotus is in Santa Cruz, I have a local team. I still stop by to say hi to the staff even though I've graduated. I'm doing really well and am proud of my recovery. Most people don't feel comfortable writing a review and revealing they've done recovery. But I'm really proud of the work I've done and I couldn't have done it without Lotus. They saved my life
