TLC opened it's doors January 9th and offered outpatient services and an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). TLC opened with a full program and had no idea that the community would respond so vigorously. TLC's IOP was specifically designed to offer "that next level of treatment," for clients that needed more than once a week therapy or weekly groups.
TLC offers in-house, psychological-medical-nutritional-interpersonal-mentoring services, and an on-site collaborative treatment team for each client that admits to our program. By February 2012, TLC needed more space and moved it's program from River Street to 701 Mission Street. Our new center is in a 2300 sq ft craftsman-style house that was designed to make healing feel beautiful and serene. By March 2012, TLC began a waiting list for it IOP program and began a partial hospitalization/day treatment (PHP) program. Additionally, TLC brought on superstar recovery coach, Lauren Howard, who co-founded Be The Light Foundation. "Howard" developed TLC's THRIVE mentorship program designed for clients to practice recovery by mentoring those newer in the journey. April Winslow, R.D. partnered with TLC and opened her nutrition practice Choose to Change at TLC. Santa Cruz is lucky to have such a talented dietitian and so are we! In the near future, TLC will be offering assisted living. Our supervised housing is designed to support clients in their recovery, during mornings and evenings, while not in treatment program. Check back with us as this exciting development unfolds!
